TEHRAN -- Forces from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s Intelligence Ministry have conducted three successful operations against terrorist groups in western parts of the country, a security official told Tasnim.

The IRGC and the Intelligence Ministry have respectively carried out two and one operations against terrorist groups in west of Iran, Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law Enforcement Forces Hossein Zolfaghari said on Saturday.

“These operations were successful and significant losses have been inflicted on the terrorist groups,” he added.

Back in June, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said security forces have thwarted a plot to foment insecurity in the country by a man named Abu Hafas, who had entered Iran with the aim of creating terrorist groups.
